Positions Summary
The Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory, coordinating shipments and inventory across the entire 3PL network. They develop sophisticated inventory management processes, protocols, and practices to ensure adequate redundancy to support growth and demand spikes; develop a vendor roster; introduce improvements and upgrades; and ensure alignment with scheduling and logistics. Must have an eye for detail, a keen analytical mind, and the ability to handle a system with numerous moving parts. They facilitate communication between production, sales, and distribution stages to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate the end-to-end daily inbound/outbound logistics operations for inventory movement and custom shipments, including Transportation (Linehaul, TL and LTL, and Intermodal), scheduling, and tracking of equipment between warehouses and to customer sites.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and technical support, to understand customer requirements on a per shipment basis.
- Prepare and manage delivery schedules, ensuring optimized routing/consolidations and timely delivery of equipment to multiple locations with approved carriers and agents.
- Be an escalation point for transportation vendors and customers. Document operational issues/exceptions with carriers/agents in real time to ensure minimal disruption to client services.
- Ensure proper BOL notation of Overage, shortage, or damage (OS&D) exceptions and gather all necessary data for the filing of freight claims.
- Continually monitor and verify transportation quotes are in line with vendor rate agreements/tariffs.
- Negotiate spot rates when needed with transportation vendors within a predefined limit and monitor compliance with service level agreements.
- Audit transportation vendor invoices with correct GL coding for AP including correct pro-rating of multiple jobs in the case of consolidated truckloads or airway bills.
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend streamlined logistics procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to logistics and supply chain management in the CPG industry.
- Review of aged inventory, analyzing inventory items to determine appropriate actions
- Drives supply chain solutions to minimize inventory while ensuring continuity of supply
- Works with production scheduling team to meet demand and forecasting needs
- Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels.
- Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
- Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
- Monitors demand and analyzes data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
- Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress and procedural efficiency.
- Be proactive and direct in communicating opportunities, issues and requirements ensuring stakeholders are current on all critical matters, with a focus on resolution alternatives, recommendations and implementation planning, costs and benefits.
- Maintain and develop positive relationships with business partners, Technical Services, Finance and Accounting, Sales, Manufacturing, Tank Farm and Milling operations to positively influence decision making and improve overall corporate performance and visibility.
- Contribute to team collaboration with a commitment to the company’s core values and strategies.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Inventory management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management preferred. Professional experience accepted in lieu.
- Ability to work varying hours, some weekends, and varying schedules.
- Valid California Driver’s License
Physical Demands
Must possess mobility to work in a food manufacturing facility vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. This is a primary food manufacturing facility classification, commonly standing in work areas. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, push, pull and reaching.
