A leading supplier of semi-finished steel products and logistics in Long Beach (soon to be Torrance), CA is searching for a detail-oriented and organized Sales Assistant to join their team! You can look forward to an excellent work-life balance in this role with a hybrid schedule that allows you to work Mondays and Fridays from home, where you will be primarily responsible for supporting important sales operations by managing invoicing, purchase orders, and ensuring seamless communication with customers, vendors, and logistics partners. Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 / year DOE

Sales Assistant Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in an office job focused on data entry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including the use of formulas)
• Experience in the logistics and transportation industry
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent internal and external communication skills via phone and email
• Bachelor s degree is preferred but not required.
• Experience in creating invoices and purchase orders is preferred

Sales Assistant Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry tasks including sales order entries, purchase orders, and purchase receiving (not a daily, high-volume task)
• Create and manage sales invoices (approximately 20-30 per week)
• Communicate with customers, vendors, trucking companies, and brokers to ensure shipments are on track and update customers on order status
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently, ensuring all assignments are completed on time
• Collaborate with the Inside Sales Manager and other team members to maintain smooth operations
