Registered Dietitian - Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist

YouCose Health is a private practice providing nutritional counseling to adults with a range of chronic health concerns, including diabetes, GI issues, and weight management. ABOUT THIS POSITION : The Diabetes Outpatient Registered Dietitian will provide outpatient nutrition counseling services to adults with diabetes and diabetes prevention in a private practice setting. Outpatient counseling services will be conducted through Telehealth and our onsite location in Portland.

*This is a hybrid position located in Portland, Oregon.

The Diabetes Outpatient Registered Dietitian will be credentialed with health insurance panels under YouCose Health prior to seeing clients.

We request a minimum availability of 30 hours per week, max 40 hours per week. Primary work hours will be Monday-Friday, with most appointments typically scheduled between 8 AM and 7PM. Some weekend availability and flexibility in scheduling is preferred.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES :

• Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of nutrition and counseling practices in diabetes and weight management.
• Complete individual personalized nutritional assessments and coordinate on-going nutritional and diabetes care.
• Assist patients with diabetes technology/diabetes medication guidance (adults only)
• Lead and facilitate group diabetes/nutrition classes on assigned topics
• Communicate compassionately, effectively and enthusiastically with patients
• Assist Lead RD in developing and maintaining nutrition/diabetes education materials and clinical procedures up to date with current research and practice
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills with a working knowledge of various software programs and electronic medical record charting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist certification must be active or planning to obtain in the next 3 months
• Licensed with the state of WA and OR as a Registered Dietitian
• At least 2 years professional experience as a full time Registered Dietitian
• Trained in Motivational Interviewing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Insulin pump certified
• Integrative/Functional Medicine certification preferred
• Weight management certification preferred
• Master’s degree in food and nutrition preferred
• Speak other languages, preferred but not required

PAY: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour + Bonus Pay
