Job Description
Paid Internship Onsite Position Location: Valencia, CA Job Statement: The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for most activities normally associated with the management of Human Resources. This will include record keeping, employee intake activities, benefits management activities, assist in accident investigations, assist in employee relations and some activities related to employee development/training.
Essential Functions : The following is a list of duties, tasks, work activities and/or functions the Human Resources Intern will/may be required to perform:
Responsible for the management of activities associated with pre-employment physical examinations, new hire orientation, new hire system set-ups (ADP, WD, Syteline), new hire orientation email to candidate and management, and post injury/accident drug testing. Reaching out to perspective employees and confirming all requirements are met and completed prior to orientation/hire date.
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of personnel folders, including filing and organization. Keeping track of all paperwork. Filing confidentiality agreements, dispute resolution, meal waiver in personnel folder. Placing copies of each document in the wage and hour binder and F driver folder, and personnel folder.
Assist Executive Management, Senior HR Generalist, and/or consultants in developing and implementing policies, programs, procedures or plans ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations pertaining to Human Resource Management in the aerospace environment.
Assist in conducting investigations, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions for reported violations of law or charges of discrimination or harassment are at issue.
Assist management and Senior HR Generalist, in developing and coordinating some forms of training especially where interviews, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety or sexual harassment are involved.
Responsible for all termination process, paperwork, final check, termination in all systems, informing IT, termination alert.
Assist middle, executive management and Senior HR Generalist with the upkeep and maintenance of job descriptions.
Responsible in the management of the Applicant Tracking System supporting affirmative action EEO.
Assist with the management of FMLA compliance.
Responsible in the upkeep of Alert Find, Kantola, Snappy, MSC Machines.
Assist with yearly open enrollment. Adding/Deleting employees and dependents in insurance portals, as needed. Auditing monthly insurance bills for accuracy, maintaining employee benefits up to date.
Assist employees with questions and concerns.
Follow-up with medical and workers compensation leave of absence employees and responsibility for the timely transmittal of notice of FMLA rights and privileges for all employees who are off for more than one week.
Responsible for time and attendance, employee and temp employee timecards and processing and following up management regarding any timecard concerns.
Responsible for payroll processing, payroll checklist, reports, and work closely with Division Payroll to ensure adequate and timely payroll processing.
Responsible for updating and maintaining the annual legal postings.
Responsible for updating and maintaining the HR communication boards and TV screensavers on an as needed basis (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Responsible for assisting in planning and organizing company and employee events throughout the year.
Responsible for creating and distributing fliers with important information and events.
Responsible for updating and maintaining all training records in Gensuite.
Responsible for the upkeep, organizing, and maintenance of HR employee cabinets and storage closets.
Perform other reasonable tasks, organizing, projects or duties as they are assigned by the GM, HR Director, HR Manger, and/or Senior HR Generalist.
Specifications: The following is a list of skills, abilities, training, education, experience, values, interests and /or talent the Human Resources Intern will be expected to possess, and demonstrate:
Must possess at a minimum an associate degree from a two-year college or technical school (Business Management, Business Administration or Accounting), or one-year's related experience, or studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field.
Must be adaptable, discreet, and willing to learn while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Must be diligent, highly organized, and able to think critically.
Must have the ability to work in a demanding, high-level environment.
Must possess or quickly develop a working knowledge of current labor law/regulations.
Must possess or quickly develop a working knowledge of eligibility and enrollment requirements as they relate to the administration of company benefits and their coverage.
Must be able to produce routine reports, compose business correspondence and to speak comfortably and effectively before small groups of employees while conducting new hire orientation, employee training, etc.
Must be able to work effectively with suppliers, co-workers and third parties in a positive and constructive manner at all times.
Must be well organized and able to provide work/project status/constraints when required.
Must be competent in the use of 10-key.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft software applications Word, Power Point and Excel
Must be able to type thirty words per minute.
Must be competent in the use of e-mail and the conduct of searches using the internet.
Must possess or quickly develop experience in time and attendance.
Must possess or quickly develop experience in payroll processing and reporting.
Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment and dealing with manufacturing HR issues.

Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
