Job Description
The Studio at Situation Group crafts award-winning work for the world’s leading entertainment, education and mission-driven brands. The Studio seeks a designer with motion graphics experience to develop creative for Arts & Entertainment clients. This role will report to the Art Director. The selected candidate has a keen eye for detail and a passion for crafting high-quality work that adheres to our client’s brand standards and achieves our strategic goals.
What You’ll Do
The Designer is responsible for crafting and maintaining distinct and authentic work that makes an impact. You’ll expand our client’s look and feel across a digital canvas and bring ideas to life using your cutting-edge know-how and fearless imagination.
Together with your team of Creative Directors, Art Directors, Copywriters, Social Media Managers, and Project Managers, we’ll learn and evolve together, and push each other to grow. You will be a nimble problem solver, using your empathy and knowledge to develop strong designs across a variety of digital mediums.
Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.
Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Conceptualize and develop designs and execute final artwork across a variety of graphic mediums, with a special focus in animation and motion graphics
Push creative boundaries while aligning to the client’s brand standards on all designs
Provide strong quality and consistency of work across deliverables
Brainstorm design opportunities backed with research and insights
Attend kick-offs, brainstorms, client calls and presentations when needed
Communicate project status to your team to ensure deadlines are met and roadblocks are addressed
Requirements
5-7 years of experience at a creative agency or similar environment
A portfolio showcasing polished, well-thought design in lead and hands-on roles
Strong motion design experience and skills, primarily focused in Adobe After Effects
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Eagle-eye for details like spotting alignment issues and inconsistencies
Strong sense of typography
Dynamic and confident presentation skills to pitch ideas clearly and effectively
Ability to manage multiple projects for multiple clients in a fast-paced creative environment
A deep understanding of how technical factors affect designing for the digital space
Troubleshooting skills and ability to problem solve efficiently, intelligently and with positivity
Interest and/or experience in arts and live entertainment preferred
Illustration and print production experience a plus
