With deep expertise in manned and unmanned undersea systems and operations, the ProteQ team provides its clients with functional expertise ranging across technician, engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
ProteQ is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support work on Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) at the Naval Special Warfare Expeditionary Support Facility in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities - Instructor of basic and advanced operation and maintenance courses for small Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) of various types.
- Technician performing basic, intermediate, and advanced (including depot-level) maintenance and troubleshooting on small USVs in various configurations.
- Operator of small USVs to include at sea testing and data collection and analysis.
- Maintainer of maintenance logs, mission logs, inventory, and configuration management of USVs and auxiliary equipment.
- Small boat coxswain for USV missions, including safe launch and recovery of USVs.
- Operator to support expeditionary and operational requests for short (less than 3 month) travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- And other tasks as assigned by the Project Lead.
Required Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience operating and maintaining USV systems.
- Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience writing technical documents including standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and test procedures.
- Demonstrated experience operating small boats.
- Experience with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take initiative, work well with a team, and learn quickly.
Desired Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
- At least one year of experience as a Team Lead for unmanned systems operations.
- Commercial or scientific scuba diving experience.
- Small boat maintenance and experience.
- Knowledge of basic electronic troubleshooting.
- Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) operating experience.
- Prior military service.
