Job Description

Executive Director
Position Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing and directing staff in the Association office, located in Twin Falls, ID, including screening and acquiring prospective office staff, communicating Association activities and positions to members and the Board, addressing member issues, interacts with and manages foreign coordinators, coordinates and communicates strategies between Association's legal counsel, lobbyists, industry partners, and the Association's Board of Directors, and proactively promotes, leads and coordinates the Association's mission to insure the sustainability of the H-2A programs including the Range Production of Livestock Provisions.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties
1. Assumes responsibility for accurate, efficient, and effective office protocols and management .
  1. Oversee and direct the office staff, and Foreign Coordinators.
  2. Focus on Team building to ensure positive office moral and maximize office productivity.
  3. Acquire a full understanding of the duties of subordinates. Determine organizational structure that makes the Association most effective and efficient.
  4. Screen, interview and acquire prospective office staff.
  5. Annual performance review of all staff members. Provide them with a deliverable plan that focuses on a feedback loop on how they can continue to improve in their position, acquire another position better suited to their skills, or advance in the organization.
  6. Manage development of operating systems and computer programs to accommodate consistent practices and a collective depository of information and documents.
  7. Acquire a strong knowledge of the H-2A Guest Worker Program.
  8. Put in place an effective and efficient data base system, to provide staff with the necessary information to create timely and accurate work.
  9. Maintain an email distribution list of members, as well as industry partners, as part of an effective communication system.
  10. Initiate a regular "stakeholder" communication between the company and external stakeholders.
  11. Address member issues, and provide an emergency contact number for members when office is closed.
  12. Communicate with Executive Committee significant member issues that may require immediate action by the Committee.
  13. Update and communicate the Association's position, activities, lobbying efforts, and strategies to members, counsel, and industry partners. Making use of weekly email blasts, and more comprehensive quarterly newsletters. Quarterly newsletters, based on necessity, may come more or less frequent as determined by the Executive Director's analysis. Furthermore, a hard copy may be made available to those who choose to still receive communication via regular mail.
  14. Develop and execute financial budgets in an effort to make the Association cost efficient, as well as, cost effective for members.
  15. Provide accurate Financial Statements to the Board of Directors at their semiannual meetings.
  16. Contract, coordinate, and oversee proper reviews of financial information. Providing reviewed or audited Financial Statements to the Board of Directors, on a basis consistent with the Bylaws of the Association, thereby meeting the desires and needs of the Executive Committee.
2. Assumes and maintains the desire and ability to proactively direct the affairs of the Association, while effectively communicating and coordinating with management, counsel, and industry partners.
  1. Must be able to travel to represent, interact, lobby, and defend the Association's interests.
  2. Promote, lead, and coordinate the Association's efforts to insure the sustainability of the H-2A Program.
  3. Communicate and coordinate both offensive and defensive strategies between the Association's legal counsel, associated industry partners, and Board of Directors.
  4. Represent the Association at the local level with individual State Associations and members.
  5. Maintain availability to physically interact with members by phone, or in meetings.
  6. Maintain the professional reputation of the company
  7. Promote our company at all times.
3. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  1. Ensure that Job Orders, labor certifications, and petitions are completed as accurately as possible to what the requested H-2A worker will be performing as job duties, and conditions of the job that is being hired for.
  2. Communicate to members how to properly implement regulatory procedures in the operations, so that all members may be fully prepared, and effectively pass, any potential DOL Audit.
  3. Help facilitate resolutions of worker and employer disputes with solutions per the H-2A regulation.
Requirements :
  1. Prior experience within agriculture, ranching, and livestock.
  2. Prior experience with H-2A labor employment.
  3. Experience with legal jargon and litigation around livestock, farming and agriculture.
  4. Willing to travel (up to 25%) nationally.
  5. A bachelor's degre
  6. Strong skills in negotiating.
  7. Significant leadership experience.
  8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Strong customer service skills.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000
