Job Summary


This is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Venue Coordinator. This position is responsible for assisting the Venue Coordinator with managing and overseeing events held at Mozingo Event Center. The main responsibilities include event management and customer relations.

Essential Functions


Event Management
  • Consults with clients regarding all aspects of facility rental and conducts facility walk-throughs prior to events to ensure accuracy of setup.
  • Coordinates with client on all event details including room layout. Manages and assists with proper event set-up, provides technical expertise, and ensures clean-up requirements are met by renters.
  • Assists with pre-event room set-up of tables, chairs, dance floor, etc. Performs other pre-event prep work as needed.
  • Inspects the facility for post-event damages and notifies Event Coordinator of any found.
  • Maintains a presence at events and troubleshoots areas of concern. Closes the facility at the conclusion of events.

Administrative Duties
  • Maintains inventory of all supplies and equipment required for operation. Notifies the Event Coordinator when purchases are needed.
  • Addresses and resolves customer service issues to ensure a positive experience for the client.
  • Answers phone calls and addresses customer questions as needed.
Public and Interpersonal Activities
  • Maintains a positive public persona. Remains accessible to clients and public, assuring positive public relations for the City.
  • Responsible for developing productive relationships with facility employees, customers, and the general public.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
  • May perform duties on behalf of the Event Coordinator when the Event Coordinator is absent.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Valid Driver's License.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent; and a minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have computer skills, strong organizational and problem solving skills, and excellent customer service and communication skills.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Most work is performed indoors in a controlled environment. Duties are generally performed during night and weekend hours, with much flexibility needed for some weekday, and holiday work required as needed.
