Job Description Reporting to the VP of Marketing Strategy, the Director of Sports Marketing Strategy is a critical leadership role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies across Telemundo's sports properties. This position requires a visionary approach to sports marketing, driving innovative campaigns, defining long-term strategic direction, and leading the Sports marketing team. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Vision Develop and execute holistic, multi-platform marketing strategies for Telemundo's sports portfolio, including FIFA World Cup 2026, US Soccer, Chivas, Premiere League, and NBA. Create comprehensive strategic roadmaps that align sports marketing initiatives with broader organizational goals. Define innovative marketing approaches that differentiate Telemundo's sports content in a competitive media landscape. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure marketing effectiveness and strategic impact. Team Management and Development Directly manage 1-2 direct reports, providing mentorship, professional development, and performance guidance. Build and cultivate a high-performance marketing team culture. Implement talent development strategies and succession planning. Conduct performance evaluations and support team growth objectives. Cross-Functional Strategic Collaboration Lead high-level stakeholder engagement across Telemundo, NBCU, and external partners. Forge strategic partnerships to expand sports marketing reach and capabilities. Develop collaborative frameworks that enhance operational synergies between marketing, production, digital, and creative teams. Represent the sports marketing function at executive-level meetings and strategic planning sessions. Advanced Campaign Development and Optimization Design transformative marketing campaigns that leverage cross-platform opportunities. Implement advanced analytics and market research to inform strategic decision-making. Develop sophisticated promotional strategies that maximize audience engagement and brand visibility. Create comprehensive campaign evaluation frameworks with detailed ROI analysis. Innovation and Strategic Planning Drive innovation in sports marketing approaches, incorporating emerging technologies and media trends. Develop forward-looking strategic plans that anticipate market shifts and audience preferences. Create thought leadership content and presentations for senior management. Identify and capitalize on emerging sports marketing opportunities within the Telemundo and NBCU ecosystem. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 1-2 years leading a team in the media, sports marketing, or related entertainment industries. Proven track record of developing and executing large-scale, multi-platform marketing strategies. Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership capabilities. Advanced presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to executive leadership. Demonstrated success in team leadership, talent development, and creating high-performance team environments. Additional Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
