Job Description Summary/Objective The Chief Financial Officer – Vice President of Accounting (CFO) works with the Chief Executive Officer(CEO)/Chief Operating Officer(COO) to develop financial goals and objectives, as well as policies to improve the Dean McGee Eye Institute overall financial performance.
Essential Functions - Oversee all accounting, revenue cycle, facilities and tax functions including personnel
- Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulations for Dean McGee Eye Institute and Dean McGee Eye Institute Foundation.
- Generate on-time monthly reporting of financial statements.
- Provide monthly executive level management reports to COO and CEO.
- Monitor and oversee capital and expense budgets, credit facilities and cash flow reports and projections
- Develop budget change recommendations based on current and projected data
- Provide recommendations to COO and CEO for resource and asset management
- Monitor asset expenditures and depreciation
- Directly oversee revenue cycle director and all revenue cycle functions
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators and target areas for improvement on a real time basis
- Maintain a working knowledge of reimbursement payment methodologies
- Oversee fraud/abuse, Stark, Anti-Kickback and IRS guidelines for non-profits
- Work directly with managers to implement financial goals and productivity benchmarks and monitor progress.
- Develop a staff that has knowledge and expertise in the above areas
- Coordinate and manage annual financial audit
- Manage employee payroll, health plan, 401(k), and other related employee benefits
- Provide oversight of departmental grant manager for research faculty
- Oversee research faculty salary plans and compensation structure and budgets
- Prepare Department of Ophthalmology budgets
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment This is a position in a healthcare setting. The CFO will be required to work in areas of the facility that may expose them to contagious illnesses due to patient interactions. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position working primarily daytime hours Monday through Friday; however, some evening and weekend work will be necessary on occasion.
Preferred Education and Experience - High School Diploma
- College Degree in Accounting
- Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) preferred
- MBA, MHA or MAcc preferred
- Strong experience in EPIC preferred
- Must have strong experience in accounting principles and practices in a medical setting
