Location: Altair, TX Reports to: Equipment Manager| Classification: Full-Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt

Alleyton Resource is an integrated aggregates and ready mix concrete company based in the Houston and Austin, Texas area. Alleyton operates sand and gravel sites and ready mix concrete locations in the West Houston metropolitan area, and operates quarries in Austin.

**POSITION DESCRIPTION**

This is a skilled position requiring the safe and efficient operation of a heavy haul truck while maintaining a safety first attitude. This position requires adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including DOT, OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ etc.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Driver will be responsible for hauling and unloading mobile equipment for production at the processing plant.

* The driver is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

* Will be required to load and unload equipment using agreed upon hand signals and eye contact with person spotting.

* Transport oversized loads with a wide variety of equipment

* Manage all types of cargo that exceed the legal limits for standard transportation

* Must be able to operate front end loader, excavators, and dozers which will be loaded and unloaded on the trailer.

* Must keep up with minor maintenance to the truck and trailer

* Must keep time and equipment records

* Driver will be expected to 5s tractor and trailer weekly

* Other duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. **Education and/or Experience:** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License. Meet minimum MVR requirements.

**Computer Skills:** Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**

* Work in all weather conditions within reason keeping safety of ones self and team in mind.

* Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary

* Must be willing to register for DOT Clearing House

* This position will be considered for work night shift roles, if they become available. Evening and night shifts may be expected.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

Consists of both scale house setting and on-site at plants. Office environment will include suitable work areas and standard office equipment. On site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply.

**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. Must be able to safely maintain 3 points of contact when applicable. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Must be self-motivated and able to direct laborers throughout the work day. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.
