They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Affordable Housing Developer to join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our affordable housing initiatives.


Position Overview: The Affordable Housing Developer will be responsible for managing the development of affordable housing projects from inception to completion. This role requires an individual with extensive experience in affordable housing development, strong project management skills, and a deep understanding of financing and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee all phases of affordable housing development projects, including site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, and lease-up.
  • Financing: Secure financing for projects through various sources, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), grants, loans, and other funding mechanisms.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Navigate the permitting and entitlement process, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to affordable housing.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial viability and adherence to cost parameters.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all projects meet high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, financial performance, and key milestones.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with development projects.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with community members and organizations to build support for projects and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in affordable housing development.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing affordable housing projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong understanding of affordable housing finance, including LIHTC, grants, and other funding mechanisms.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to affordable housing development.
